They were on the very end of the runway light structure south of National Airport. I had watched one bird fly out there carrying a fish when I saw the second one already on the structure. A few minutes earlier, I had seen one Osprey flying over Daingerfield Island carrying a stick. It landed in a tree at the river's edge. It was probably the same bird that was later carrying the fish, but I don't know for sure since I lost sight of it for a while. Other sightings include: Double-crested Cormorant - 1 at Fletcher's Boathouse Pied-billed Grebe - Georgetown Reservoir, National Airport Wood Duck - Fletcher's, Chain Bridge, Roosevelt Island American Black Duck - National Airport Northern Shoveler - 1 m at Chain Bridge Canvasback - 1 m on Potomac River north of National Airport Ring-necked Duck - Georgetown Res., Chain Bridge, National Airport Lesser Scaup - 2 m, 1 f at Georgetown Reservoir Bufflehead - 1 m, 2 f at Georgetown Reservoir Ruddy Duck - 1 f south of National Aiport American Coot - Georgetown Res., Chain Bridge, National Airport Killdeer - Four-mile Run, Roosevelt Island John Hubbell Chevy Chase, MD ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
