It was a good opportunity to = observe Black-capped Chickadees, which I rarely see anymore since moving = back to D.C. They really are noticeably larger than our Carolinas and = have much more white on the wings. A cardinal was singing nearby and the = snow was pretty much all melted, but otherwise there were no obvious = signs of spring up there yet. Disappointingly, no raptors were visible = along 45 miles of interstate highway, only crows and gulls.
