Currently they are a component of what remains of the White Flint crow roost in Montgomery County. They fly over my house in Rockville daily on their way to and from the outer county where they feed. I agree with Jim that the rate of flapping is obviously faster and is most noticed when mixed flocks fly to and from roosts. Park anywhere along the 270/355 corridor any late afternoon and watch the crows go by. After a short while you will be able to pick out the Fish Crows easily. Paul O'Brien Rockville, Mont.
