The number in the roost trees has gone down considerably over the past several years. Am not sure why this has happened as I have never seen any evidence of 'harassment' or 'control' by the residents. The community of Lake Linganore was built right in the midst of a sizeable vulture roost. As soon as people moved in, they found themselves in an uncomfortable relationship with the 'natural inhabitants'. I never heard if there was ever any resolution of the problem. Last I heard, the residents still saw the vultures as pests and were looking for a way to legally exterminate them. Good luck with this one. (as everyone knows raptors, including vultures, are protected) Jerry Tarbell ----- Original Message ----- From: Les Roslund To: Sent: Monday, March 18, 2002 8:43 PM Subject: [MDOSPREY] Getting Vultures off the Roof > Several of my neighbors are having a problem with Turkey Vultures > perching on their houses.
