On the 13th, at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary i counted 2 flocks of 43 and 92 at the north end of Jug Bay. I rushed home and counted them at the south end of Jug Bay and found 3 flocks of 95, 45 and 35. This is a total of 310 birds! (all but the 92 were on the A.A. side). There is another good flat about half way down Jug Bay on the P. G. side that was too far away from either location, but i am sure it had a bunch too. This may be a new record count for Maryland. Birds of Maryland lists March 15 to April 25 as the peak Spring migration. Perhaps these high counts previous to that are just another artifact of our warm winter. danny bystrak bristol, MD ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
