However, I never felt I had a good definition of where the fall line actually ran in DC, so I did a quick web search and found a great map that shows it. The map is here ... http://www.chesapeakebay.net/pubs/waterqualitycriteria/DOC_dc.pdf So, the southern 1/3 of Teddy Roosevelt Island is actually on the Costal Plain and the northern 2/3 is in the Piedmont. Cool !!! The Anacostia River and the Tidal Basin are totally within the Coastal Plain.
