I visited Chaney's at NorthBeach and videotaped the reported 88 canvasback. Didn't see much else. Only 12 of the mentioned surf scoters flew by. I did see an Osprey beginning to nest on a platform above the phone poles at North Beach. 2. SchoolhousePond-still had it 12 Northern Shovelers, and 2 Mute Swans. Did see a pileated at west depot pond, tho. I saw 5 white Muscovy ducks at east depot pond and 2 more swans(couldn't tell type) 3. Lastly, I dropped by the south side of Piscataway inlet across from FtHunt. The 30 Scaup were still there. It was low tide and the water level at 11:15 was much lower so that the mud flats went out over 100 feet. I saw a total of 5 eagles at the same time. I saw one mature bald eagle fly by a scared off some 20 seagulls, then took their place and sat on a stump on the east side of the inlet looking for nearby fish. I then saw 2 pair of eagles (4) at one time soaring together over Ft Hunt about 11:25. Three stayed together after they descended to scoop fish from the north shore of the inlet. Two flew back toward me(south). Later the fourth brown/black immature joined the one on the stump. A friendly surveyor stopped by at lunch and we viewed the two eagles on the stump from his scope. Multi colored, many browns/black. From binoculars, the 2 immature had some flecks of white as well as multi browns.
