Also, there have been some interesting waterfowl lately (today & yesterday), including 3 Horned Grebes, a female Ring Necked Duck, a male Green Wing Teal, a Ruddy Duck, and the usual Gadwall, Shovelers, and Wood Ducks. Monday, I had a Blue Winged Teal among the Wood Ducks and American Wigeon in the wetland off of Brown Station Road. Snipe continue at Schoolhouse Pond and other area ponds. Also, of note, there have been 4 Rusty Blackbirds at Schoolhouse Pond the last 3 days. Relatedly, this Saturday will be a PG Audubon/Patuxent Bird Club Field trip looking for waterfowl & other birds in Upper Marlboro area ponds & Jug Bay. We will be meeting at the Bowie Park & Ride at 7:30 AM. Call me at (410)721-1744 for more details. Hopefully the Eurasian Wigeon is still around!
