Observations were of a very dark, all-black bird with a long, paddle-shaped tail, fairly long & narrow (relative to a cormorant), pointed wings, and a very long, slightly crooked neck. I spent most of the time closely examining the bill, expecting to find the sickle shape of an ibis, but the bill was thin and narrow, and straight as an arrow. The bird flapped a time or two, but for the most part was soaring, heading in a southwesterly direction. I'll submit report to the records committee. Also of interest, a flyover flock of 40 - 45 Bonaparte's Gulls.
