A pair of Great Blue Herons seem to have taken up residence in the woods along the river, so will keep an eye on them to see if they begin nesting. Sunday, April 7 I had my first Blue-gray Gnatcatcher along a different stretch of the same river. Lots of Swamp Sparrows, a male A. Kestrel hunting a shrubby field, Brown Thrasher, Red-taield and Red-shouldered Hawks, and a pair of Belted Kingfishers. Golde-crowned Kinglets kept me company. Triadelphia Reservoir off Greenbridge Rd. had a single Bonie, lots of Ring-billed and some Herring Gulls, a single Common Loon and 3 Caspian Terns on Saturday April 6.No sign of "my" killdeer, though.
