It was fairly dull until I stopped at the corner of Marriottsville Rd and Marriottsville Rd #2. There I heard my first White-eyed Vireo and Parula Warbler of the season, as well as a Yellow-throated Warbler and La. Waterthrush. At the end of Henryton Rd, Howard Co, there were two Yellow-throated Warblers (one seen) having a song contest across the river. I also saw a Parula Warbler (probably several heard), a yellow Palm Warbler, a La. Waterthrush (2 more heard up Henryton Rd), and a Pine Warbler -- the first Pine Warbler I ever saw in Howard County. I ran into Paul Koehler who said he heard a Pine Warbler in an area of pines up the dirt road to the west, "fairly far" I think he said. I heard or saw 3 Pine Warblers in a brief stop at Soldiers Delight. At the Liberty Dam trailhead there was a La. Waterthrush, but no Yellow-throated Warbler. So the arrival of warblers and such is getting seriously underway up here. ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
