The Baltimore Bird Club visited Lake Roland in Baltimore City Tuesday morning. I walked with them until I had to leave for work. It was a slow morning. Maybe the birds couldn't figure out whether it was April or August with the 75 degree temperature. Highlights included a Ruddy Duck, a Blue-winged Teal, a lone circling Broad-winged Hawk, a Blue-headed Vireo, a few Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, lots of gnatcatchers, and some lingering White-throated Sparrows. Our only warblers included "Yellow" Palm and Northern Parula. As I left the group and walked back to my car, I also got singing House Wrens and an early Yellow Warbler.
