Also Yellow-rumped Warblers and one (yellow) Palm Warbler. There was also a single Ruby-crowned Kinglet, so slow and lethargic in the heat that at first I thought I was stalking a vireo. At the DC Veteran's Memorial, a large gathering of Chipping Sparrows and Yellow-rumped Warblers, all madly singing. It was the loudest chorus I have ever heard at the grove. Also included were a couple of noisy Brown Thrashers and Eastern Towhees, as well as some Cardinals, juncos and White-throated Sparrows. All screaming their little heads off.
