Those ascending notes with the last one out of tune. My first instinct was to slam on the brakes and do a tight U. But those pesky cars were in the way. When I finally got back to the site, the little rascal was out of sight but still singing. A PRAIRIE WARBLER! My first warbler for 2002. I'm still grinning like an idiot. Other notables ... took a visitor from Texas to get his life PILEATED WOODPECKER at Oregon Ridge yesterday evening. We saw/heard the following migrants: HERMIT THRUSH, E. PHOEBE, R.C. KINGLET, WT SPARROW. Otherwise pretty quiet. Other migrant to report was a CHIPPIE who woke me up 2 mornings ago. I was thrilled, for about 5 minutes, then slammed the window shut and went back to bed. Don't y'all just love this time of the year????!!! :-) :-) :-) cheers, shireen -- Shireen Gonzaga Baltimore whimbrel@comcast.net ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
