As we sat in the living room, something caught my = eye. It was a male Ruby-throated Hummingbird perched at the feeder. = Usually, the migrants don't like to perch and just hover while feeding so = we feel that either this bird has been here before or it's a local. Then, on our walk, we heard a Wood Thrush chucking. No song, just the = call. Unfortunately, we didn't wake this morning to the sound of thrush = song. Perhaps the stray thundershower slowed the bird activity though it = didn't seem to diminish the cacaphonous White-throated Sparrows!
