On the way I saw my first Cattle Egret of the year (2) in Scotland following a tractor. Another first for the year were 2 Eastern Kingbirds at the park. There were Common Yellowthroats, Pine and Prairie Warblers, Eastern Towhees, many White-throated Sparrows, etc. Fish Crows and American Robins were newly confirmed nest builders. At the last moment I saw my first Orchard Oriole of the year. It was a male. There still at least 7 very vocal Common Loons in breeding plumage as well as Buffleheads and Horned Grebes. While driving down my road I saw a Wood Thrush. And, oh, earlier in the day I saw 2 Common Mergansers flying over my house. Interestingly, Anne Bishop also saw them fly over while she was at work.
