I was hoping for Common Loon = today. A few other new arrivals appeared. Not a bad yard bird day for = the little time spent on the deck. =20 Birds of note were: 2 Common Loon* 1 Great Blue Heron 1 Turkey Vulture 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk 1 American Kestrel* 1 Whip-poor-will 2 Hairy Woodpecker 2 Pileated Woodpecker 1 very vocal White-eyed Vireo* 1 very quiet Blue-headed Vireo (alticola)* Lots of Blue Jays moving north 2 Barn Swallow 4 White-breasted Nuthatch Lots of Blue-gray Gnatcatcher At least 1 Wood Thrush*, wit, wit, wit, than nocturnal flight call, then = song. A good lesson. 1 Gray Catbird* 1 Northern Parula* 30+ Yellow-rumped Warbler, singing and calling. Pine singing Ovenbird singing Eastern Towhee male 1 Dark-eyed Junco. Last week I had 60. They move out fast after tax = day. What will tomorrow bring? Good birding.
