Highlights were Nashville Warbler heard and seen from boardwalk; Am. Bittern in middle of pond area. Chimney Swifts, Spotted Sandpiper, fly-over Caspian Tern, White-Eyed Vireo (heard), House Wrens heard, Prothonotary Warbler(s) heard; Parulas, Common Yellowthroats were birds of the year for most or all participants. Sapsucker, White-throated Sparrows, one Rusty Blackbird were holdovers. Also Snipe, Yellowlegs sp., Sharp-shinned Hawk with unidentified bird kill. A Winter Wren persists in our little Capitol Hill back yard, which has had Brown Thrasher, Towhee, and Hermit Thrush in recent days.
