While we (and everyone else out there it seemed) were skunked, we did get to see some birds. Most interesting were the 100 or so COMMON LOONS scattered about, all heading north. Some gave us a nice glimpse of their breeding plumage. There were also slightly less DOUBLE CRESTED CORMORANTS, a lone NORTHERN GANNET, several flyby's of SURF SCOTERS, a pair of GREAT EGRETS, several GREAT BLUE HERONS, CHIMNEY SWIFTS, BARN SWALLOWS, and assorted GULLS and TERNS.
