About the time I was leaving the rains stopped so I decided to look for puddles and shorebirds. I didn't find many puddles, but while I was scanning a field of Laughing Gulls two Buff-breasted Sandpipers flew in. Before I could get a scope on them something spooked the entire field of birds. I kept on the Buff-breasted Sandpipers until they disappeared. Just before that they looked like they were landing, from my perspective, in the field behind the fruit and vegetable stand in Scotland. I could not relocate them. Perhaps someone else will have better luck. Other birds were 2 Glossy Ibis, 11 Yellowlegs sp., and about 20 peeps. I went back to tell Marty about the sandpipers and he said he saw an adult Mississippi Kite in about the same area coming back from lunch.
