I went there on April 19 but was unable to find any birds. It may have a been too windy. I was wondering if you have been back there since your field trip and if you have seen the birds again? The habitat looks very good for them. Do you know if they are typically there all summer? Thanks for any help you can provide! Jean Jean L. A total of 65 species were found. Highlight: Yellow-throated Warbler low enough and cooperative enough to even give scope views - and singing jubilantly throughout the viewing. Bonaparte's Gulls (5) and Surf Scoters (many) - both new species for this site. A pair of Brown Thrashers; many Meadowlarks; several Barn Swallows and Tree Swallows; Brown-headed Nuthatches; Three Horned Grebes in breeding plumage; one fly-over Great Egret; and, for Atlasing purposes, a Downy Woodpecker carrying nesting materials into a hole on a dead snag. During pre-walk checking on Saturday, the Jean Shehan grounds had also shown a Hermit Thrush, a Red-breasted Nuthatch and a Common Yellowthroat, but these were not relocated today.
