Jim Paulus was there, and regaled me for some time about his experiences with the hawk watch, and the county in general. It was a cold day, and he loaned me a down jacket. As I was leaving, he said, "Ah, keep the jacket - I've got plenty of others. Just always wear it at hawk watches!" He was a prince of a guy. He'll be missed.
