There were no other adults, and all the goslings were similar, so it doesn't appear to be two families combined. This seems like an unusually large clutch. The MD Breeding Bird Atlas mentions clutch sizes of 1 to 9 eggs. Has anyone else encountered a family the size of the one mentioned above? Seven or eight is the most I've seen before. Other birds in the AA Co. part of the block included my first Chimney Swifts, many NRW Swallows, one or two Ospreys, an adult and a juvenile Bald Eagle, and a Prothonotary Warbler.
