Most surprising find was an AMERICAN BITTERN in an area of David Force Park. Also nearby were calling BARRED OWLS and PRAIRIE WARBLER. Not many migrant warblers but new were a few BLACK-THROATED GREENS. SCARLET TANAGERS, WOOD THRUSHES, GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHERS and OVENBIRDS were setting up territories in the woods behind Manor Woods School. Confirmed CAROLINA WREN there with young squeaking from underneath some fallen logs as the parents scampered about. A magnificent young male NORTHERN HARRIER flew over Davis Rd. which set a BLUE JAY off in a frenzy of red-tailed hawk cries, which the harrier completely ignored.
