Right next to the parking area, an unfamiliar song turned out to be a NASHVILLE WARBLER, my first ever in the spring. Also there was a singing Blue-headed Vireo, alticola race. Near the pond was a pair of Carolina Wrens, one carrying food, and my first-of-spring Indigo Bunting. Down the Grist Mill Trail were Blue-winged, Black-throated Blue, Redstart, Kentucky and Prothonotary Warblers. Yellow-throated Vireos seemed to outnumber Red-eyes, with two birds apparently duetting right over my head. Gnatcatchers were numerous, and I saw two tending a nest. Great Crested Flycatchers were out in force. Just before I left, a small bird popped up onto a low branch at the parking area -- a late JUNCO. It was a very pleasant outing.
