A pair of Baltimore orioles and a male orchard oriole were reacting to their reflections in the highly reflective windows, off and on throughout the morning. Heard at least one other male Baltimore oriole singing from a tree top. They kept distracting the staff (some who had never seen an oriole) with their tapping. By the way, the NWVC is celebrating International Migratory Bird Day this Saturday with special activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The O's should still be around. There will be a presentation regarding the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center whooping crane studies. Steve Noyes, Volunteer Naturalist, Patuxent Research Refuge.
