In six hours we saw/heard seventy-three species, including fifteen warblers species. From the bridge we had a "bird's eye" view of a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER, and brilliant Indigo Bunting perched on the new foliage of a multiflora rose. A singing YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, backlit by the early morning sun, was a real treat. The CERULEAN WARBLER played hard-to-see and won. The warblers: BLUE-WINGED (3), NORTHERN PARULA (7), CHESTNUT-SIDED (3), BLACK-THROATED BLUE (2), MYRTLE (23), BLACK-THROATED GREEN (3), BLACKBURNIAN (1), PRAIRIE (3), CERULEAN (1), BLACK-AND-WHITE (2), PROTHONOTARY (1), OVENBIRD (6), LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH 5), COMMON YELLOWTHROAT (3), and YELLOW-BEASTED CHAT (1). Other highlights included a Pileated Woodpecker, Great-Crested Flycatcher, Veery, Purple Martin, and a close-up performance by a White-eyed Vireo.
