A solitary and a spotted sandpiper probed the water's edge. A barred owl flew across a path. Lots of woodland songbirds were singing (unfortunately my poor hearing precludes accurate identification from song). Not long after I arrived, maintenance people came in with leaf blowers and there went my peaceful morning..so I left.
