It didn't take long; just a short ways down the streamside path, a loud bubbly chatter and a flash of yellow came out of the bushes just a few feet away. This bird sang and foraged in full view for many minutes, apparently much less moved by our encounter than I was. On top of that, the park was hopping with enough activity to rival the best May mornings. In less than an hour I SAW Parula, Chestnut-sided, BTB, Myrtle, BTG, B&W, Redstart, Kentucky, Yellowthroat, Wilson's, and Canada Warblers. Heard were waterthrush sp and one Magnolia/Hooded, not sure which. Would've liked to have made it a three-"Wilsonia" day. Also of interest were Veery, Wood Thrush, Scarlet Tanager, RB Grosbeak and Baltimore Oriole. As someone said, so many birds, so little time.
