Date: Thu, 9 May 2002 13:48:50 -0400 Reply-To: Maryland Birds & Birding Sender: Maryland Birds & Birding From: Jim Felley Subject: Lincoln Monument birds, 5/9 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Rob Weiner and I birded Constitution Gardens and the DC Veteran's Memorial at lunch today, with the following results: Constitution Gardens: Orchard Oriole, several Baltimore Orioles, lots of Rough-winged Swallows over the pond (with some Barn Swallows too), flyover Black-crowned Night Herons, Common Yellowthroats, Yellow Warblers and Yellow-rumped Warblers were abundant, one Northern Parula, a female American Redstart and several Blackpolls (new to the Mall this year). DC Veteran's Memorial: Yellowthroats, Yellow Warblers, Yellow-rumped Warblers again, as well as a few Swainson's Thrushes (new to the Mall this year) and a Nashville Warbler (ditto).
