Yesterday, May 8, Arlene Ripley graciously led a group of Montgomery Co birders (with a couple of outliers from Frederick and Anne Arundel) on a trip to Flag Ponds in Calvert County. It was wonderful! This is a beautiful park, and weather and birds cooperated fully. Hooded, Kentucky and Yellow-throated topped our list of 19 warblers. Adding some lovely field birds nearby (Bobolinks, Grasshopper Sparrow, Horned Lark), we had nearly 100 for the day.
