We had a Least Flycatcher (saying "che-bek, che-bek ..." and fleetingly seen), a Wilson's Warbler, (which seem to be unusually abundant this spring, but this one was seen only by me, unfortunately), a Northern Waterthrush (seen by some), and good looks at both orioles and the three major woodland thrushes; but not too many warblers. Some other warblers were Redstart, Yellow, Black-throated Blue, Canada, Yellowthroat, Ovenbird and Magnolia. Several of the participants got some life-birds out of this, and two of them brought their older teenage (or +?) children along. Yesterday, for the second year in a row, Pete Webb and I saw about 200 Bobolinks in an alfalfa field on the east side of Western Rd about 100 yards south of Thornton Mill Rd in northern Baltimore Co. (To get there you could take the Shawan Rd exit west from I-83, then go immediately north on Western Run Rd for about 2 miles, then right (north) on Western Rd for about 1 mile. Chances are they will stay for at least a few days.)
