I'm sound challenged at best - birding by ear is not my strong suit. After listening to some tapes at home, I've decided that the rail is either a Virginia or a Clapper. It has the vocal quality of the Virginia, but the cadence is more like a Clapper. It's in a fresh water wetland. Even though it was probably within arms reach this weekend, I couldn't see it. If someone who is good at IDing rails by sound would care to join me this weekend, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks, Kathie Lambert Harwood, MD kbert59@yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? LAUNCH - Your Yahoo!
