The babies that I reported next week are still doing fine - still alive, at any rate (when I tapped the side of the box to see if they would peep, like they usually do, they didn't make a sound, so I opened the box and looked in - they're still alive, but not very lively...don't really know what's normal, though). I checked the other box, the one that I've been kicking house sparrows out of (though not fast enough, apparently), and found a HOSP nest with a dead bluebird on top of it. I think it was a female, it had a brood patch. There was no blood that I could find. All I can think of is that one of the HOSPs came in with nesting material, found the EABL in there, and killed it. What should I do now? I don't know if it's one of the parents from the other box or not. I watched the other box from inside my office, and eventually an adult came to the box and went in. Ideas, anyone? ===== Lynette Fullerton Odenton, Anne Arundel Co., MD l_fullerton_1999@yahoo.com "I think I could turn and live with animals, they are so placid and self-contained, I stand and look at them long and long." --Walt Whitman, from Leaves of Grass __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
