Sorry that I didn't post before now; it occured to me that the numbers seemed unusually high (I certainly had never seen so many BCNH on the river in such short a period of time). Oh, and it was a glorious morning there...Yellow Warbler singing practically in my face, 4-5 Baltimore Orioles, with one high in the top of a tree, glistening in the sun; 2 immature (fledglings?) Red-shouldered Hawks watching, learning, quietly on a limb reaching out from the sycamore tree where the nest had been, with 1 adult RSHA coming inbound from the VA shore later, calling to them. And the Blackpoll Warblers were everywhere (but not like at Monticello Park over in that other state, where the woods were filthy with them, plus American Redstarts, Magnolias, Canadas, & Red-eyed Vireos...even a Wilson's, my first of the year). What a glorious day...in D.C., or course. And, er, yes, MD, too. I suppose (it was great reading all those wonderful reports Sun & Mon night!). Even saw 4 Common Nighthawks over Glen Echo Sunday night, along with about 11 Chimney Swifts. And had a Ruby-throated Hummingbird at the feeder this morning (first time I've seen him in days...must have something to do with putting out fresh food). Here in MD.
