We had 115 species of birds. We missed a few that we thought would be easy and got a couple that we didn't expect. Spots we hit: Pinto Marsh Dan's Rock Old Legislative Road North Branch (PPG ponds) Spring Gap Town Creek Aquaduct Warrior Mountain WMA Green Ridge Road (and several other SF roads) Rocky Gap State Park Cumberland Terminus Species of Note: best birds: The best bird was the WILSON's PHALAROPE at North Branch that was there with a few DUNLIN and SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS. At one point one of us glimpsed what was thought to be a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER but it was never seen to anyones complete satisfaction. I incidentally did have 4 Short-billed Dowitchers on Saturday on the beach at Rocky Gap State Park. We had a TENESSEE WARBLER singing which was our only migrant warbler other than Blackpolls which were in a few spots. the embarrassments: no sign of Acadian Flycatcher or Orchard Oriole. other birds we had hoped for and missed: There had been a Marsh Wren around awhile back, Whip-poor-wills were not singing at Ray's home. Virginia Rail and Swamp Sparrow were quiet at the Marsh. No Snipe there either (are they gone ?). No Black Vulture (we didn't visit a known roost site because of time constraints).
