Birds were quiet, perhaps subdued by the influx of 'Rolling Thunder' motorbikes. It's hard for a Redstart to compete in that environment. There were American Redstarts about, lots of Blackpolls, a Yellow Warbler, a Common Yellowthroat, and an Eastern Wood-Pewee. Some birds that behaved as if they will be or are nesting included Gray Catbirds, Eastern Kingbirds, and Baltimore Orioles singing up in the trees. For those interested in the DC portion of the Atlas, we stumbled across a fledgling Brown Thrasher at the DC Veteran's Memorial.
