Did anyone see it yesterday? > Actually, there IS a Monticello Park in Alexandria that is a virtual warbler magnet in the spring. Here's a sample list from a couple of weeks ago (5/11): ""Common Yellowthroat Canada Cape May YEllow Rump Black-thr.Green Black-thr. Blue Black and White Blackpoll Redstart Magnolia NOrthern Parula Ovenbird Bay-breasted Nashville Chestnut-sided Immature Pine Wilson's Hooded Scarlet Tanagers, Swainson's and Veeries, INdigo Bunting, Red-Eyed Vireo and Baltimore Oriole all added to the show. "" The best part of this park is the small stream that runs through the middle of it. The best time to visit is about noon, when you can actually sit and watch the warblers bathing in the stream. As far as I know, there isn't a pond in it. At least there wasn't when I was there a couple of years ago.
