The Red Knots were on Slaughter Beach yesterday, several dozen. None were to be seen at Pickering or Port Mahon (tide was in at the times I was there). Pickering had plenty of Semi-palm SP and Turnstones. People were collecting buckets and truckloads of Horsehoe Crabs at Port Mahon. Broadkill Beach was empty. Slaughter had the best numbers and variety of the 4 beaches I visited, but the tide was finally going out at that point: Red Knot, Turnstone, Semi-palm SP, Black-bellied Plover. Curlew Sandpiper(s) continued at Bombay Hook through the weekend. I saw one on Shearness yesterday at 8:10 a.m. Two Red-necked Phalaropes were on Raymond yesterday morning. And for sheer wierdness, a single white-phase Snow Goose was at Woodland Beach Wildlife Area, and at least 8 Ruddy Ducks were in Broadkill Marsh.
