I saw the bird at 1130. This is the first adult Little Blue Heron I have ever seen in Howard. And it is in full, breeding regalia, with about two thin plumes coming off the back of the head, and voluminous Great Egret-like plumes down the back. From Rt. 32 take Broken Land Parkway, head north. Park in the lot just beyond Snowden River Pkwy. It's a long trek the length of the lake. Bear right at the end of the lake, you will soon see a large pond on the left. Check that, if the bird isn't present, continue to the other side of the pond, and beyond is another body of water. It was at the latter where I saw it, Sue saw it on the pond. Thanks, Sue!
