The Pacific Loon was quite close to the two Common Loons and the difference in size was very apparent. We ran into Bob Dixon from northern Baltimore County, who was kind enough to let us view the Loons through his scope. On both visits the Loons were best viewed from the dam, which is adjacent to the Kingfisher Overlook parking area. The PALO came quite close to the dam, and we actually got better looks with our binoculars than we had earlier through the scope from father away. The adult and juvenile COLOs stayed close to one another most of the time, but the PALO seemed to be going its own way, while still remaining in the general vicinity of the COLOs. Thanks to those who reported and gave directions to find this bird!
