Parked at the Kingfisher Overlook parking lot and right = away spotted a loon about midway out in the lake. Walked down to the = shore and spotted the Pacific Loon only about 20 to 30 yards out from = us. Had a scope on it while it proceeded to swim towards us coming up = close enough that we did'nt even need the scope. Great looks at the = chinstrap as well as the black and white line of demarkation between the = hind and foreneck. It stayed right in the immediate area feeding for at = least 15 minutes, obviously finding some good fishing right near a = sapling that had fallen into the water. =20 Meanwhile, we could also observe the Common Loons about midway out in = the lake but not moving in towards our direction. =20 We were very surprised that we did not spot one other birder in the hour = and a half or so we were at the park. It was a real treat!!!! Does anyone know the website where we might see the photos taken of the = Loon and mentioned on the previous MD Osprey?
