This area is a very pretty section of the park with picturesque streams, shady/mature woods and blooming flowers such as Mountain Laurel and Wood-Sorrel Unfortunately, along the Owl Ridge path we found active ant mounds several feet high which made walking that part of the trail very exciting. Doubly exciting was finding the following although we didn't hit the trail until about 10am: White-eyed Vireo Yellow-throated Vireo Red-eyed Vireo Blue-winged Warbler Pine Prairie Ovenbird Louisiana Waterthrush Kentucky Yellowthroat Scarlet Tanager Indigo Bunting Veery Wood Thrush Acadian Flycatcher Kingbird Many thanks also for the information posted about the Pacific Loon which we enjoyed on Sunday.
