GS BUMED" Subject: Chimney Swifts MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1" This winter the cover blew off my fireplace chimney, which I haven't yet replaced. For the past several weeks I have observed Chimney Swifts flying in the vicinity of my suburban home and now realize that the swifts are using the chimney as a roost or nest site . Although I welcome the swifts to my home, should I be concerned about any potential effects they might have on the chimney structure?
