Here are a couple of necessary corrections and clarifications to my Field Trip post of yesterday afternoon. First, the "field cards" I will be providing will not be the official Atlas Field Card. Instead it will be a form similar to the Incidental Report Form save for having room for longer, more detailed bird lists (most birds will be in safe dates). You will fill out the form by noting landmarks/place names as precisely as possible and noting the list of species found at each stop including Atlas codes if breeding activity is noted. Many birds will only be found singing on field trips, but atlas workers will be revisiting the field trip sites to upgrade many of these birds to a "T". Knowing locations will facilitate this process greatly. Remember Garrett County is divided into quarterblocks, we need reasonably well placed sightings. I will be at the trip leader's orientation on Friday to hand out forms. Second, because of the sheer volume of reports coming in over this single weekend I will be in charge of taking forms and I will then send them on to Fran Pope. So disregard my instructions on who should receive reports. If you can't get the forms to me at the Conference my mailing and e-mail addresses are in my signature block below. I can take reports either via post or e-mail attachment. Thanks for your forbearance and attention.
