Highlights for Saturday June 8, 2002 include: Great Cormorant - 1 (1st-year) Least Bittern - 1 (calling from the marsh) Glossy Ibis - 2 American Avocet - 2 (weekly last summer) White-rumped Sandpiper - 5 Lesser Black-backed Gull - 3 (2 1st-S, 1 2nd-S) Royal Tern - 3 (weekly last summer) And the ELEVENTH gull species on the island in 6 weeks: FRANKLIN'S GULL - 1 (1st-summer) This species joins Laughing, LITTLE, Bonaparte's, Ring-billed, CALIFORNIA, Herring, THAYER'S, ICELAND, LESSER BLACK-BACKED, and Great Black-backed for this time period. On another note, I have about 10 weeks of reports to e-mail to observers that were on trips to Hart-Miller during the last 5 months while my computer was down. I won't be posting these to MDOsprey. If anyone is interested in receiving these reports, please reply to me off-list at ejscarp@comcast.net . It might take me a few weeks to get the reports into the computer and then sent out. Thanks.
