The weather was outstanding, the birding and field trips excellent, and the overall planning very well carried out. Our congratulations to everyone involved in the planning and execution of this year's conference! Fran and I birded all day Saturday with George Jett as he led the Lister's Trip which covered all corners of Garrett County. We managed to tally 90 species of birds, a wonder in itself, but the highlight of the day had to be the incredible looks we had of two separate Henslow's Sparrows in the reclaimed strip mines in the southwestern part of the county, one a mere fifteen feet away from us. If you were there and Fran and I managed to chat with you, great. If we didn't manage to touch base, my apologies. We certainly hope that all of the other 314 or so attendees enjoyed the birding and the good fellowship as much as we did! Best, Norm & Fran ============================ Norman C.
