It's about how Hollywood movies mangle birdsong by having them "sing" in the oddest places and times. The article is at: http://www.salon.com/ent/movies/feature/2002/06/13/ornithology/index.html And while I have your attention, please allow me to vent. One of MSNBC's latest promos, that has a patriotic theme (which is nice), features a Bald Eagle vocalizing a Red- tailed Hawk call. It drives me nuts. NUTS! As I suggested on the Birdchat list, we are presented here with an opportunity for a little good-natured fun, and the chance to help a major and respected news organization get their facts straight. So, how about a letter-writing campaign? ;-) If you're so inclined to protest our mis-represented majestic national symbol, the general email address for MSNBC-TV is Cable@msnbc.com. Or if you're feeling a bit mischievous, like I was earlier, send an email to the show "MSNBC Investigates" and suggest that one of their crack investigative journalists investigate Bald Eagle vocalizations. Their email address is MSNBCInvestigates@msnbc.com. For those who prefer snail mail, MSNBC TV One MSNBC Plaza Secaucus, N.J. 07094 Ever so sincerely, shireen ;-) -- Shireen Gonzaga Baltimore whimbrel@comcast.net ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
