Since we didn't go on the New Germany walk as part of the conference, I don't know if this is common knowledge. Some fellow returning birders (thank you!) pointed out a pair of Blackburian Warblers feeding in the evergreen trees bordering the entrance to parking area #5 - the parking area close to the lake and Poplar Run. We watched the male and female feeding - sometimes low in the evergreen trees and along the creek. The male was hardily singing (for a Blackburian) and seemed to be protecting its territory from other birds. Also in the park were Yellow, Black-throated Green and Blue, Parula, Canada & Magnolia Warblers, a Hermit thrush and a Blue-headed Vireo. Happy Birding, Dan Eberly Bethesda ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
