Subject: King bird behavior problems MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1" MDOsprey, A coworker (non-birder who really doesn't care about the status of the birds) has a Kingbird continually flying into all of his windows on his house and car for about a week now. The bird also sits on the rail of his deck and makes quite a mess on the deck. He has several acres of land that used to be a farm field and most of it remains un-mowed. The only trees near the house are 8-ft saplings and the nearest woods are about 300 yards away. He can't find a nest in his saplings or on the house, and the bird seems to always be there when he goes outside. He has put up pictures and stuff on the windows to break up the reflection and chases the bird away when he gets the chance. In his opinion, his next option is to choose between a BB gun and a rifle. Any suggestions? How to encourage it to land somewhere other than the rail and how to minimize its competition with the reflection?
